Dear Sisters:
Summer is drawing to a close and we are ready to kick off another great year for Alpha Xi Delta. For more than 50 years, the members of the Northern Virginia Alumnae Association have enthusiastically served our community as well as Alpha Xi Delta…and have also managed to share food, fun, and friendship along the way.
As usual, we have a full calendar of events beginning with our annual potluck dinner on September 10. Other events this coming year include a Hillwood Estate tour (Washington, DC home of Margery Merriweather Post), our annual Holiday gift exchange, and our Founders’ Day luncheon (held at the Mount Vernon Inn). We also plan to participate in Hands On DC again this year as well as support other local organizations. Please see our schedule for more details.
One of the ongoing achievements of our association has been the ability to fund our philanthropic efforts year after year. We have been able to do this primarily through the success of our annual pecan sales, which have been widely supported by our dedicated members. Last year, we raised more than $3,700! If you would like to participate in this year’s fundraiser, mail it with your dues and membership form to Paula Tully Quiñones. You can also bring it with you to the September meeting. Dues are $25 and 2007 graduates are free.

The Northern Virginia Alumnae Association is a wonderful organization, and I am proud to serve as your President this year. We have a large and diverse membership, and we are always happy to welcome newcomers. Whether you are new to the area or have been out of touch for a while, please join us this year!
