Every year, Autism Speaks hosts a Hill Day in honor of World Autism Month to increase acceptance and understanding of autism. Local advocates are invited to join Autism Speaks in Washington D.C. to visit congressional offices and discuss issues important to the autism community.

Morning Meeting
8am-10am
Light continental breakfast including a morning meeting with advocacy programming featuring Autism Speaks staff.
Hill Day
10am-1pm
Advocates from all over the country will partake in a Hill Day for World Autism Month. Advocates collectively will visit all 535 congressional offices to discuss Autism Speaks’ mission objectives with members and their staff. The Autism Speaks grassroots team will also coordinate select sit-down meetings with various grassroot leaders.
Autism Champions Lunch Reception
1pm-3pm
Lunch reception with programming featuring several guest speakers. Autism Speaks will honor members of Congress and their staff who have demonstrated outstanding leadership for the autism community.

On Friday, April 27th Autism Speaks to Young Professionals (AS2YP) DC will host its 6th annual Illuminate to benefit Autism Speaks on the rooftop at The Observatory at America's Square.
Illuminate is AS2YP’s signature annual event, and we hope you will join us in making this year’s gala our most impactful event to-date. We’ll be raising much needed funds and Lighting It Up Blue in honor of World Autism month, all while enjoying an open bar from 7-10 pm, delicious hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, and live entertainment courtesy of our favorite cover band The Proper Pets.
